Technical Specifications

Insulating Monolithic Refractories

General Description:

Insulating monolithic refractories are lightweight refractory products with low thermal conductivity. These products are widely used as heat-protective layers, such as direct insulating refractory layers and backup insulating refractory layers in high-temperature industrial units, leading to improved energy conservation, reduced fuel consumption, and lower structural weight.

Dirgodaz Amol Industries produces these products in various castable and gunning types for operating temperatures up to 1500°C. These products include compositions with medium, low, or very low density and hydraulic bonding systems, offered with varying levels of alumina, iron oxide, and thermal conductivity. Insulating castables are manufactured using different lightweight aggregates such as perlite and sintered grains with high thermal stability. High-alumina sintered lightweight grains with low iron oxide content are used in producing high-purity insulating castables with high chemical corrosion resistance in reducing atmospheres (carbon monoxide, hydrogen) and up to 1500°C.

Advantages and Specifications:

  • High mechanical strength
  • Abrasion resistance
  • High chemical corrosion resistance
  • Suitable rheological properties and uniformity
  • Easy installation

Applications

Insulating monolithic refractories are used in various thermal units for the following industrial applications:

  • Chemical and petrochemical industries (olefins, methanol)
  • Ferrous metals (iron ore pelletizing, direct reduction of iron ore, steel, cast iron)
  • Non-ferrous metals (aluminum, copper)
  • Ceramics (tiles, porcelain, glass, cement)
