Refractory materials play a key role in direct reduction iron industries due to their suitable thermal stability at high temperatures, excellent resistance to corrosion and physical/chemical wear in reducing atmospheres, and low thermal conductivity. These materials are used in various reduction units to extend equipment lifespan and improve process efficiency. Below, some of the refractories produced by Dirgodal Amol Industries for different Midrex and PERED process units, along with their reference projects, are introduced.
